Sackett's Land

This is book one of Louis L'amour's famous series. The first time I read this, I was in the Marines and fell in love with it. L'Amour talks about what it is like to be a man in the early 17th century. He introduces Barnabas Sackett as the main character to the Sackett's bloodline. There are a lot of adventures in coming to a young America and going back to England to face up to some trouble that was brought his way. Along the way, he finds friends, enemies and the love of his life. My fiction library is limited but does find Louis L'Amour novels on the shelf. Instead of a star rating, I will use books and I give this a 5-book rating. I'm looking forward to reading the next book, To The Far Blue Mountains. I hoped you enjoyed this review and follow me for more.

The Reader

This is my first blog on Between the Bookends. I came up with this idea one night when I was thinking of all the books I have read and the ones on my shelf that have not been touched. I enjoy reading and pick up books just about anywhere. I buy them at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, my Kindle, the local thrift store and Goodwill, to name a few. I decided that I would like to start giving testimonies of the books I read and what my thoughts on them are. No, I'm not a critic but I hope my feedback can help some people out there.
